Vladimir Propp

Vladimir Propp's theory is all that fairytales are constructed in certain plot elements and follow the same narrative structure. 
All fairytales feature:


The villain 
The hero
The donor - helps the hero by providing a magic object 
The dispatcher - sends the hero on his way
The false hero
The helper - helps the hero
The princess
The princess's dad


Many music videos follow the same narratives and feature many of the characters in fairy tales an example of this is 50 cent - Do You Think About Me. the roles have been switched as the woman is the villain which is not the conventual way it happens in fairytales.
